Why Use the Starvmount DC2DC 12/24V to 48V 240W Power Supply

The Starvmount DC2DC 12/24V to 48V 240W Power Supply provides an efficient DC power solution for Starlink™ installations running from 12V or 24V battery systems. It accepts a 9-36V DC input and steps this up to 48V DC, making it suitable for a range of Starlink™ DC power setups.

This is ideal for installations where avoiding inverter losses is important. By removing the need to convert DC battery power to AC, then back to DC again, the DC2DC helps improve overall system efficiency. It does not reduce the power used by Starlink™, so the battery system must still be correctly sized and capable of supporting the required load.

Suitable applications include Starlink™ MINI, Starlink™ with Standard Router and Starlink™ Standard setups when used with the appropriate Starvmount cable, barrel socket or Passive PoE solution.

Brief Install of the Starvmount DC2DC 12/24V to 48V 240W Power Supply

Install the DC2DC power supply as close to the battery, fuse panel or DC power source as practical. Keeping the input cable short helps reduce voltage drop, improves efficiency and supports safer operation.

Select the correct cable size and fuse rating based on your Starlink™ setup, cable length and whether the system is 12V or 24V. The power source must be capable of supplying the required current, especially for Starlink™ Standard or higher power installations.

Connect the DC input to a protected 12V or 24V supply using suitable stranded DC cable and correctly fitted ferrules. Ensure the cable or ferrule is positioned above the rising plate inside the screw terminal before tightening. If the cable remains loose, do not overtighten the screw. Reset the terminal and check that the conductor is seated correctly.

As Starlink™ continues to draw power when not in use, we recommend installing a switch or relay so the system can be turned off when required. For convenient switching without extending the main power cable, use a Starvmount DC Relay with Wiring Harness to control the DC2DC power supply.
